The most of the mexican special forces do their training in Ft. Bragg and Ft. Campbell, they also train with the brazilian special forces and kaibiles in Guatemala those guys are one of most coldblooded killers and if that is not enough for you, they train with Israel comandos and inteligence.

I was and Army ranger for 4 years in the U.S Army, did my time in Iraq, Afghanistan and columbia, I am trying my hardest right now as we speak to join the mexican army and be one of these hard core bad ass soldiers, we have it easy in the U.S , Trust me!! just because people dont know jack shit about other countries, but the u.s is not the most hard core pleace to be a special ops soldier, I love the U.S but its too soft and people seem to become ignorant when it comes to respecting other countries.

first of all any sized army large or small can under the right management kick ass, maybe still lose a war of comparison but deal a good amount of damage in the debate… or under poor management a large army can be cumbersome and slow. I am currently at Fort Bragg, and I am going to put in my two cents. The Mexican Army has a very strong special ops unit, however The United States has an operation knowledge unlike any other military in the world. As for Spetsnaz, well that is an open term. Spetsnaz refers to any special unit in the Russian military, There is a very large Spetsnaz unbrella. There are certain units that of Spetsnaz that are very well trained, however they train for pain. The torture there soldiers instead of training them. There philosophies on combat are rather comical. Don’t get me wrong, I have respect for them, however just because you can take an ass beating doesnt mean your going to be a smart soldier, and that is the name of the game. The most fundamental practices in combat are ignored, and they practice breaking bottles and things over there heads, I cant remember the last time that was required in a firefight. You have to be able to take an ass beating and think better than the best soldiers out there if you want to be an american special ops soldier. US trains us to think outside the box, Just some advice, dont believe all the hype. Just because you are one of the several different ethnicities that come from mother Russia, doesnt mean your harder than any other peoples in the word. I have seen a Texan dominate spetsnaz, I am from NC and I am probably 7 and 2 against sparring a spetsnaz. and I am ok, but i aint the best.

I love reading all of these comments. It would be nice if people learned how to spell though. I am in the US Army, and I do agree that the US Military is getting soft.

I have met a lot of very brave Mexican-American soldiers, and I have a lot of respect for them. Do I think that the Mexican Military could take the US Military on in combat, no way. We are far too advanced for their military. Yes, you are very right that we have lots of money to throw at our military, which is why it’s so great.

Ground troops are not as necessary as they once were. Special Ops units are very necessary though, because they help pinpoint where the threats are so that we can use the technology that we have. The technological world is evolving and the military has to keep up with it. If you don’t keep up with the technology, then the only countries that you can defeat are the ones that are on your same level.

The weapons that the Mexican Army soldiers are holding, are very common weapons in the US Military. They are weapons that we carry, day in and day out. It’s also funny that the Mexican Army has to parade their weapons around in the streets. I don’t see the point in that.

I also agree that the best soldiers are the ones who have actually seen combat. American soldiers have stood our ground through many wars, conflicts, etc. Nobody can ever take that from us or try to make us sound week. Everybody knows who fought in the real wars. I think that Americans are the only ones that I’ve seen in this thread who has really stood toe to toe with the enemies. We never back down and we never accept defeat. That’s the truth and it doesn’t matter if you contest it because we speak with our actions not just with our mouths.

I’m not saying anywhere in this that the US Military would defeat the Mexican Army because they are not hard or brave enough. I’m saying that we would defeat them because we have a far superior military.

This is how it would go if we would ever go to war wtih Mexico (this would never happen though, because we love good weed). A fraction of the US Navy would surround Mexico (it would be so easy since your our neighbor). The US Marines would barrel into Mexico and cut everything down in sight (I’m not a Marine, but I have all the repsect in the world for our Marines). At the same time, our Army and Air Force would be pounding you with Artillery and every bomb that we could drop. After a few weeks, and there is near nothing left. We would send in the Army to set up shop. We would start running missions to eliminate all of the stragglers. We would then begin our humanitarian missions to help strengthen Mexico again. After all of that, we will set up US Military bases and leave them there for the next 100 years. Once we pour Trillions of dollars into Mexico and things start to get built up and looking nice there. Then, we’ll start getting stationed there regularly. Then Mexico will be crawling with American’s. We’ll hit the clubs up almost every night. We’ll have sex with all of your women and you’ll have mixed babies running around everywhere. If you think I’m wrong, look at every other conflict that we’ve been in. I hate to say it, but it’s the truth. By that time, we’ll probably even have our “Pink” soldiers running around touching other guys butts. Who knows, I’m just saying.

The argument that the U.S. military would be able to beat the mexican army is worthless. You need to look at history to see that just because you may be a larger and more well equipped military does not mean you automatically are going to win.You must put other variables in this. If the U.S. military is so grand, then why can’t they stop the taliban, Al-qaeda? Why during the vietnam war, was the american army brought to their knees? The answer is that both of these groups fight and fought guerilla style warfare and considering that the GAFE are SF, most likely the U.S. military would face tough adverseries. You must look at the psychological effect it would also have. If there was a war between this two countries, an american soldier would have a tough time justifying what is their cause to be in that country. I am an american Soldeir who is married to a Mexican women who came to teh united states a few years ago. the reason the US offers citizenship to the Foriegn Soldiers who fight is because they earned the right to be citizens.There is not a huge amount of Mexicans in the US military, I would say around 20 to 30 % from the last numbers I have seen. There is also no way that the United States of America and the United States of Mexico would ever fight in a war, because no matter what you might think, we are allies. I did hear someone say that Mexico is the 3rd largest economy in the americas. If this is true, which I do not doubt, where is all of the money? the only thing that I feel sorry for Mexico about is the Corruption of the government. If the people of Mexico could get the government in line, they would be an economic powerhouse. Unfortunatly, the government sells out thier countrymen fo rtheir own profit. But why is there a competition? If this country (Mexico is where I live) had a great military then Marshall law would’ve solved some of these problems fairly quickly…unfortunately Mexico can’t even control their own soldiers.

I went to Liberia in 1995 to help get alot of peace corp people out of harms way. we went to Ruwanda to help the people there. We went to Belize to help run medical clinics after the hurricanes, Honduras to help the people their. There is a lot of good that we do in our military also. I remember driving through Mexico on the way up from Ignacio Allende Durango and running into a Mexican army unit out running a road black. they were very professional. I do think they are very good Soldiers. Mexican army= 190,000 Soldiers, United States Army= 1,400,000 army Soldiers, 1,400,000 Sailors in the Navy and 200,000 in the airforce. we have the most highly advanced aircraft in the world. Yes, Mexico has HMMWV and M1 tanks, but not even close to the same amount as we do. The Soldiers are good Soldiers, but their is just not enough of them. That war was more then Davie Crockett, and Jim Bowie, it was also most of all the Texas Mexicans to who were tired of Santa Ana’s bullshit. Santa Ana got whipped, then 9 years later picked a fight with then President POlk causing more problems for his country. Polk was atleast some what decent by giving the Mexican people, Not! Hi, I’m Mexican and I’ve read Paratrooper and Muerto1 comments and I agree with some things that both of them said, like that Mexico is so fucked because of the corruption. In this country we have some of the most powerful and richest men in the world, but we also have the most poorest, so if someday we can have more equitaty México’ll be one of the greatest nation in the world.

Also, paratrooper said that if a war between México and USA happens (something that will never happen), México will be defeated by USA in a few weeks, the only thing I can said is that if USA decides to invade México they will be in front of another Iraq. Because I’ve heard from some of my friends and family that if they got to die defending México they’ll do it because we need to protect our nation the home of our family (if you know something about Mexican culture then you should know that for a Mexican, family is everything) so I think that USA’s army would not just be fighting against thousand of soldiers, they’ll be fighting against 100 million women and men ready to die for them country. After dealing with all of the stereotypes being heard about Mexico today I decided to actually research Mexico to have an actual informed opinion and not just a stereotype.

Just as I thought! Mexico isn’t doing so bad for themselves, and as usual, the armed forces are usually an example of how well of the society is. Mexico even has airborne troops, something many other countries lack!

The military technology may be a decade behind in some regards. The weapons produced in Mexico are definitely a little dated, however a bullet is a bullet no matter what you shoot it out of. However I see some FN-SCAR’s (I believe that is what they are called) in the pictures so they have took a step ahead of the U.S. military in terms of weapons in that single regard.

So all in all, the Mexican military is definitely a capable military and the country itself has quite a bit of Latent power. Don’t get me wrong though, I doubt the U.S. or China for example, would tremble at the threat of Mexico. However It is a threat that couldn’t be ignored! As Mexico could easily do a great deal of damage if just ignored!

I live in tijuana mexico and I work for the navy , I train the marines and the navy concerning tekie stuff. I have had the pleasure of traing mexican personel also, I am not in the military but work for the usa gov. I can tell ya, the mexican army is trained by the usa special forces groups, also they are trained by isreal, english and from other countries they do not have the experience so they contact countries with different experiences, they are very tough when it comes down to special forces , those indians man they would be scary to be against, they are hard as nails and their life before military was hard, the mexican military is very tough on their guys, some friends in the military have been tortured for weeks for misconduct.

The mexican military is pretty good , the navy is kind of a joke though, they have no money to run their ships properly.
The standard military and navuy are not as disiplined they are pretty laid back and cool.

1st the US Military is about 13% latino. the combat arms branches of the US Army are 15% latino. The combat arms units if the USMC are 17% latino. The combat arms branches 0f the US Army are 83%white, the majority come from middle class or higher families. The USMC is 81% white in the combat Arms. The lie of the poor brown or black soldier fighting for the rich lazy white folks is dead, since the draft ended 1975.

On the other side I have trained with Mexican Army and Marines and found them quite conpetent. I also know I worked with Mexicans at Southcom who worked for the cartels.

The USA and Mexico have had 3 major conflicts that lead to the occupation of major cities and the capital, never did the Mexicans mount a insurgent Champaign they just quit. In the Mexican american war the only victories for Mexico were achieved by the Irish Brigades!

I’m in the U.S. Army seriously considering Special Forces after much admiration and research. I’ve also studied up on the Spetnaz, S.A.S., Italian Naval Spec Ops (can’t recall their real name currently).

All i can saw in light of these photos is “holy crap!”. I really didn’t know that Mexico had such a large special operations group with a shit ton of Barrett .50 cals…albeit they’re probably more for show as this is a parade, and the U.S. does the same thing (show of force/intimidation). So I give them mad credit.

I also wouldn’t doubt that they’re pretty badass considering latin hot-blood (look at boxers and latin gangs…bloody ruthless).

Either way I’d like to let off saying that if any powerful country’s special forces went toe-to-toe with another big player’s spec ops it’d be bloody hell. Spetnaz are straight up tough, Green Beret are skilled, IDF are ruthless combatants, Asian spec ops – you shoot em and they keep coming at you, Mexican spec ops no doubt are super dedicated and motivated.

I also think y’all should back off the race issue “one race makes a better soldier” shit…Really? I am Mexican and currently serving in the U.S. Army I have been deployed and have seen combat and action. All I can say is… if Iraqis with no prior military training and no government support can give us a run for our money.. then don’t ever underestimate the capabilities of any other army or body. To all the people critizing the special forces officers in these pictures, i would suggest you took a step back and analyzed the situation as a whole. These are dedicated and outstanding soldiers that have been trained by american and israeli special forces. I dont believe the point of discussion should be whether or not mexican forces are better that american forces; because evidently US forces have more men and the biggest budget. However gentlemen, quite a few of our armed forces are involved, and helping in the fighting in Mexico: Their reports claim that these special forces groups in mexico are exceptionally trained and work even under harder conditions than most conventional US personnel deployed in Iraq. The reason for this being a comination of a similar type of combat with the insurgency in the middle east (Urban Combat), and the fact that these soldiers have their families constantly threatened. For most of the US personnel serving in Iraq, we go out and we give our best to protect our country, because we want to defend our nation and our families back home; however, to a certain point we have a certain tranquility to the fact that our families are safe at home. These mexican soldiers, not only see the face of danger every day (considering the war on drugs has left more dead than the whole iraq war), but also have to live with the fact that their service and pride not only threatens their lives, but their families as well. Mexican drug cartels are known to target soldiers’ families and massacre wives, mothers, fathers and children of all ages. So to all the people who are misinformed about the situation in Mexico, I would strongly suggest they learn a little more about what is going on. In my opinion these men elite soldiers with an outstanding capacity to do what they are trained for and are one of the few armies in the world who actually see combat day to day. They are men with an incredible pride for their country. They are the men taking the beating for the unsaciable vaccum for drugs that our country creates.

It doesn’t matter at the end of the dazy what you have, even the training to some degree, it’s the people (more importantly the individual-the Vietnameese Montenegrad were feared more by the NVA then any of the US or ARVN units deployed in vietnam, although they had virtuually no training, no support, and frequently uised bows or antiquated firearms-such as muskets) No country can send in it’s entire military, it has too many vested interests, it needs to defend it’s own borders. Most armies of the world have an equal proportional size to the land they cover. So when you reduce the size of an army down by over 70 % and then take out over 75% of it’s strategic assets such as spy planes/stealth bombers, submarines and aircraft carriers which are constantly deployes in attemts for QRF and intel purposes, you have a much smaller army. Just because they have a great military history doesn’t mean the current army is great, knowledge isn’t imediately passed on to new recruits, even if it was that knowledge probablly wouldn’t be relvant today, tactis used in South East asian jungles won’t hold true to urban areas in Afghanistan. Finally the current Mexican army has a larger number of exprerienced soldiers as a high percentage of it’s soldiers see action fighting organised militias and cartels, comparitively only about 30% of The USA’s military has been deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq, bear in mind that “support” troops are unlikely to see much action (although not impossible). To conclude no-one knows what will happen in any war, by it’s very nature it is unorganised and chaotic.

When it comes down to the technology and weapons, mexico doesn’t have it but what mexico does have is experience. A U.S marine doesn’t see action to often only if they get assigned to a mission. In mexico they get action almost every 30mins there’s always a shooting or killing on every corner. That’s the only reason I think the Mexican army is a little better in experience than the U.S army. No doubt the U.S has better guns and equipment but whats the point of having it if you have no experience. The more experience you have the the better solider you are. Also even the police see action everyday, and some of the shit they be seeing is the most fucked up shit. In mexico they kill you in the most fucked up ways as possible. This is what makes them so hardcore motherfuckers they get use to the gore and violence that they become emotionless. In Mexico people have already gotten use to the killing that it becomes a routine just another killing and people just walk by the body if there was nothing there. Think about it; all these people in the U.S who consume these drugs can’t keep the flow of money going because it’s in the black market. Illegals actually still contribute more than them. But if we did more to contain drug trafficking we’d be able to keep the flow of money going bc MAYBE that money would’nt go too much into the black market and actually start going into the economy plus the revenue that comes with illegals. Cause I mean; it’s not like illegals don’t contribute anything at all to the American economy. Already there’s a lot of complaints within those states that have “cracked down” on illegals. Farm owners are complaining about no one harvesting crops and it’s the crops are going bad because no one is willing to do the work. I just wish both countries would pull themselves together. Again, illegals are going to enter the U.S regardless of what laws there are so why not actually provide them with real opportunites and that way they can contribute EVEN MORE to what they already do.

One has a budget, per what I have read on the internet, of approx. 6 billion and the other, the US, spends over a trillion. So comparison is not fair. But Viet Nam proves such expenditures do not guarantee success. So a lower budget does
not mean you cannot field a good
army. But lacking air cover or a good missile defense system a good army would face serious problems.

I remember I trained a couple of these guys, they played around a lot but when they had to get serious they got serious, alot of them have pretty good endurance but most of them dont have discipline and a lot of them didnt really want to listen to me or my men. but overall they were great soldiers and well armed by the U.S of course they are not as trained as the U.S soldiers but they are pretty advanced compared to other latin american countries.

Every country is best in it’s own way no need to compare though i do wish sometimes the My Army would bring back starch and shine the only real thing that can make you look like a soldier and mean as hell too :). the only way to join the mexican army is to be born in mexico and have a mexican background wich means that you parents have to be mexican too born in mexico.

Im a US Marine and have been on an army base for some time now and ive got to say it is rare to find a squared away army soldier theyre so spoiled and weak minded. Ive seen some the training that the Mexican army does, theyre much more disciplined.
